So way back in 2006 I started a company called Alpine campers converting panel vans into caper vans using my joinery back ground as my core skill set and it took off in ways I never imagined .. I had people from all over the country bringing me their vans for me to build . It wasn’t long before I started to supply the trade with camper vans including VW franchises and the odd motor home supplier . I was building vans to a very high standard and absolutely loved it ! Fast forward to 2020 and yes you guessed it ! The pandemic shut me down due to the lack of vehicles and the huge rise in cost to the second hand market so I went back on the tools . The good thing was I got to spend more time in the vans I built and the VW crafter pictured right was the last one I did so I kept it . So since 2006 I’ve been involved in van life and the outdoors. I’ve got nineteen years under my belt so when it comes to buying your accessories or looking for places to visit I know what’s hot and what’s not ! , I’ve made those mistakes , I’ve wasted a small fortune buying things I thought I needed and didn’t need at all , I’ve been to those places that look amazing on pictures but when you get there it looks nothing like . The self van build industry is bigger than ever so I decided to provide self build coaching and that’s how I came up with idea for Ad-vanture . Why not create an online home full of information for new comers to this lifestyle and seasoned pro’s alike . Do I miss building vans ?
Absolutely ! but its just not the same as it was back in the day .. the self build market is huge now so why not coach people how to do it properly and safely ! I’ve seen some pretty bad and unsafe vans on my travels over the years …
